The emphasis of my work has always been on using dietary changes and nutritional supplements for disease prevention and medical conditions. These conditions include digestive problems, high cholesterol, cancer, women's issues, resistant weight loss, allergies, asthma, diabetes, eating disorders, hypothyroidism, and more.
Research conducted during the last 35 years has made it clear that the major chronic diseases affecting Americans are nutrition related.
My philosophy on health is very simple:
What we choose to eat, and take as nutritional supplements,
can have tremendous power over how we feel and how we heal.
Prevention of illness is the best benefit of choosing wisely, but if we are diagnosed with a disease, our food and supplements then turn into natural “treatments”.
Integrative practitioners know that foods can have positive as well as negative effects on our physiology, and that a balancing of foods can create a balancing of body chemistry.
In the 1950s when I was a growing child, our food supply had a lot less chemicals and additives in it. McDonalds was just becoming a household word, convenience foods were starting to come on the market, and families were by and large eating meals together.
Today is a very different story, with 2 working parent households, time at a premium, and the ability to cook wholesome foods reduced. Americans are eating the majority of food out of processed packages and the Standard American Diet is making us sick! |
